Making an Application 2010

- Applications open at 9am on Friday 4th December 2009.
- Closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday 18th December 2009.
- You can make as many applications as you wish to different specialties and deaneries providing you meet all the eligibility criteria and required competences for the posts for which you are applying.
- When registering on the system there may be a slight delay before you receive your authorisation email. If after 24 hours you have not received an email please re-register.
- Applications must be submitted via the online system. Application forms or CVs posted or emailed to the Wales Deanery will NOT be considered.
- Your application will comprise of 3 main components:
- Part 1 - This is the generic part of your application form and is based upon a CV. You only have to complete Part 1 once irrespective of the number of specialties you wish to apply for. Once you have completed Part 1 you will be required to complete the Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form and then Part 2. Once you have completed Part 1 you cannot go back and edit it.
- Equal Opportunities Monitoring - You must complete this before moving on to Part 2.
- Part 2 - This section of the application form is Specialty and Grade specific, it contains specialty specific questions. You are required to submit a Part 2 for each grade or specialty you wish to apply for. You will also be asked to select a region in this part of the application form. Training in Wales is offered in varying numbers of regions. You can select one or all 3 regions on the application form. Click here for information about the regions and Health Boards in Wales. You must complete at least one of these and submit it for your application to be submitted for this recruitment round.
- You can apply for more than one specialty or grade within a recruitment round. For example - if you wish to apply for a CT1 post in Core Surgical Training and a CT1 post in Psychiatry you should submit the following:
- Part 1
- Equal opportunities Monitoring
- Part 2 - CT1 Core Surgical Training (select CT1 and Core Surgical Training from the drop-down menus and complete the specialty specific questions)
- Part 2 - CT1 Psychiatry (select CT1 and Psychiatry from the drop-down menus and complete the specialty specific questions)
- Selecting a region - you will be asked to select a region(s) you wish to apply to. Within the Wales Deanery there are 3 regions, however posts are not offered in all of the regions and therefore you should reference the vacancies page for further information. You may select 1, 2 or ALL 3 of regions available.
- South East Wales
- South West and Mid Wales
- North Wales
You can make numerous changes to your application form via the edit and save functions, however once you click the submit button you will no longer be able to edit that section of your application.
